Towns and cities near London City Airport

  1. Biggin Hill is 20 miles or 40 minutes by road using London City Airport transfers. With lots to see and do, including the Biggin Hill Memorial Museum, it was the site of an important RAF base during World War II.
  2. Greenwich lies just five miles south-west of London City, so won’t take you more than 20 minutes to reach. It’s home to numerous fascinating attractions, from the Cutty Sark clipper ship to the Royal Observatory, Old Royal Naval College and the National Maritime Museum.
  3. Stratford is a similar distance away and here you can visit the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (why not try a boat tour?), whizz down the world’s longest tunnel slide, indulge in a little retail therapy at the Westfield Stratford shopping centre or take in a show at the Theatre Royal Stratford East.
  4. Woolwich is a little further afield at eight miles. From here, you can stroll the Thames Path, check out the Thames Barrier or look in at the Royal Artillery Museum.
  5. Grays is still further away at around 12 miles, so London City Airport transfers may take a shade longer. It’s in Thurrock, Essex, and you could hit the beach, check out Chafford Gorges nature park or enjoy a river cruise along the Thames.
