- Cala Fonda is 65 miles south down the coast or roughly a 90-minute run from El Prat. This is a white-sand stretch that not everyone knows about. It’s surrounded by lush greenery and orange-coloured cliffs. Settle in for a relaxing afternoon.
- Montjuic is less than nine miles away, or a 20-minute hop from the airport. This imposing hill leads up to the palatial National Museum of Catalan Art and a complex of museums, the 1992 Olympic site, exotic gardens and panoramic views.

Barcelona El Prat is a highly accessible airport, with lifts, ramps, escalators, lowered phones and disabled loos. And, since Spain is an EU member state, it must comply with European law on disabled access.
