2. Claude Monet’s House and Gardens are 57 miles west; allow an hour and 15 minutes for your transfer from Charles de Gaulle. Think green, light and shadows, Japanese-style bridges and water lilies.
3. Disneyland Paris, some 26 miles to the south, is barely 45 minutes from Charles de Gaulle. Visit Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain, Walt Disney Studios Park Pirates of the Caribbean, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Ratatouille, among other attractions.
4. Domaine de Chantilly is 15 miles north-west, or a 30-minute Charles de Gaulle Airport transfer. 5. The Bois de Boulogne lies 17 miles south-west – or a 40-minute hop from the airport. Paris’s second-largest park boasts lakes, terrific gardens, the Château de Bagatelle and kids’ amusement park. Walk in the exquisite rose garden, and see the classical-style Orangerie.
6. Montmartre is some 15 miles south-west, or a 30-minute airport transfer from Charles de Gaulle in the city’s north. The 130m hill is home to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, completed in 1919. In nearby Tertre Square, artists paint tourists and showcase their efforts. Picasso and Van Gough worked here.

Passengers with reduced mobility can request assistance throughout their journey, and have priority access through security. Terminal entrances, moving walkways and escalators have clear yellow-band highlighting. Toilets, public phones and ticket dispensers are adapted for wheelchair access, plus there are modified seats for those who struggle to get up. Finally, induction loops in the waiting areas assist hearing-impaired travellers. You can also ask for someone to meet you on arrival to help you through the airport.
