Miami International Airport Transfers

• Miami Springs is a few miles north, or a 10-15 minute Miami Airport transfer. It’s known for its unique architectural style (the Spanish colonial-inspired Pueblo Revival), exemplified by Curtiss Mansion. There’s plenty to see and do at the home of one of North America’s biggest resort casinos.
• Hialeah lies less than six miles north; be there in 15-20 minutes from the airport. This often-overlooked city is one of South Florida’s oldest, known for cattle farming and aviation. Visit Amelia Earhart Park, cool off at Bucky Dent Water Park, explore the arty quarter or check out the Garden of the Arts.
• Jupiter is 88 miles north – allow 90 minutes for your Miami Airport Transfer. Enjoy stunning views from Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse overlooking the Loxahatchee River. There’s also a pioneer-era homestead and a local history museum housed in a WWII naval building, plus the Atlantic-facing beach.
• Fort Lauderdale is a 35-minute Miami Airport transfer, being 30-odd miles north. Known for its beaches and boating canals, you’ll find plenty of great cafes, shops and entertainment here. Look out for the swanky mansions and super-yachts!
• West Palm Beach is 70+ miles away; allow 1 hour 15 minutes for the journey from Miami Airport. The epicentre is Clematis Street, with its boutiques, eateries and nightclubs. Don’t miss Antique Row, or Norton Museum of Art.
• Downtown Miami is less than nine miles south-east of the airport, meaning you can be there in under 20 minutes. Take a boat trip across Biscayne Bay, check out the HistoryMiami Museum or drop into Bayside Marketplace for waterfront shopping and dining. Meanwhile Hobie Island Park is perfect for a spot of sea air. There’s great street art to see, too.

1. Everglades National Park lies 12 miles east, or 20 minutes by Miami Airport transfer. This 1.5m-acre wetland comprises mangroves, marshes and pine flatwoods. Its hundreds of animal species include the leatherback turtle, Florida panther and West Indian manatee.
2. Grapeland Water Park is a couple of miles away, or minutes from Miami International. This urban green space is one of Miami’s best-loved outdoor areas, with a ball field, tennis courts and seasonal water park, plus a snack bar and movies.
3. Wynwood Walls lies just over seven miles east and reachable in 15 minutes by Miami Airport transfer. Free to view, this unique outdoor museum showcases international street art and graffiti.
4. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is located 10-odd miles south-east – cover them in under 20 minutes. Established in 1916 as a winter retreat, this villa celebrates the Italian Renaissance and has much of the original artwork and furnishings. Explore the lush, formal gardens.
5. South Beach is 12.5 miles east – or a 25-minute Miami International transfer. Explore fine-sand beaches and the famous Art Deco area by bike. People-watch from an Ocean Drive café and enjoy the glamorous nightspots, restaurants and indie fashion shops.
6. Miracle Mile shopping mall lies just four miles south so it’s only 15 minutes from Miami International. Expect high-quality shops and boutiques and art galleries, plus live theatre, in tree-lined streets.

Miami Airport is committed to fulfilling the Americans with Disabilities Act, so all the standard things like lifts and adapted toilets are here. A digital tool, myMIAaccess, offers a dedicated information platform. The Aira app helps the visually impaired navigate MIA, which also participates in the sunflower lanyard scheme, discreetly alerting staff to passengers with hidden disabilities. Travellers can also ‘dress-rehearse’ trips pre-departure. Miami International offers suites for nursing mothers, wheelchair-charging stations, service-animal relief areas and multi-sensory rooms for those with conditions including autism.
